Yesterdays hike, Powell Butte Nature Park was sadly uneventful. It's a good place to walk the dog if you live near it (Powell and SE 162nd) but other than that I probably wouldn't drive over there for it. It had a nice view of the surrounding area, which I'm sure is beautiful on a nice day, but was really just a walk around the top of the butte on a paved trail. Horses are allowed so there were some messes on the trail you had to avoid and dogs are allowed on a leash. We did a figure eight loop thing and went down Meadowlark trail at the end. Meadowlark was actually really beautiful but only about a half mile-ish long. I saw a very cool looking fungus with a glow in the dark stem (which you can't see in the photo, bummer) and lots and lots of flickers. Other than that it was pretty dull.
I'm sorry for not posting the day of! I was surprised how many people noticed actually but it made me happy to know people are reading this :) I'll make sure to be more proactive in the future.
